ARTIST BIO
Welcome! I want to take you on a wonderful journey to enjoy my Artwork that I do! I hope it inspires you and you get to feel the wonderful adventure this art is for me.
A self-taught artist who embraces various art forms, I was born in Berlin, Germany.
While in Berlin, I studied at the "Akademie fuer Bildende Kuenste und Graphik-Design" and also worked for numerous years as an advertising artist at "Schering AG".
From an early age on, as child I was captivated by the African people and their art. As an adult I got at my work in intense contact with the African culture, their artifacts and music and I became more and more fascinated by the beauty, strength and vitality of the people. My African art embrace the poetry of nuance and gesture and show the extraordinary diversity of cultures. Then there is the incredible variety of African jewelry and adornment. They inspired me to create my own jewelry line where every bead is a precious gift from ancient times and every necklace is unique in its own.
I moved from Germany to Coconut Grove, Florida, and my new life inspired me to explore other forms of expression and brought a greater dimension to my work.
I find creative inspiration from various tribal cultures and utilize my traveling experiences as a foundation to explore our global heritage.
My Abstracts are influenced by the stone carvings from the "Shona" tribe (Zimbabwe), combined with the magic of the orient.
My work is vibrant, powerful imagery, exploring detailed African Portraits to brilliant colorful Abstracts.
My work has been featured at the Miami Herald, The Andrew's Journal, Primal Instincts & Bescene Magazines.
